There was quite a long distance from the Bale Mountain Lodge up to the plateau and then to the best Ethiopian Wolf area but it meant there was time to spot other wildlife on the journeys. We easily found the Endemic Blue-wined Goose on most of the remaining pools along with Yellow-billed Ducks, Red-knobbed Coots and a few Ruddy Shelduck. Moorland Chat were everywhere along with Black-headed Siskin but it was certainly a surprise to see Common Sandpipers up at 14000 ft. The White-collared Pigeons we saw seemed to want to go into a long distance race with the vehicles.
