Away from our local bay, we walked up Ben Hogh which is the highest point on the island at the giddy heights of 104m! Near the 'summit' is the Queens Stone which is unusual as it is held above the ground by three small rocks, the result of huge glaciation forces and selective erosion. It overlooked our cottage and was only a 20 minute walk but trying to stand up and keep the camera steady was a real challenge in the gale force winds. There are many beautiful sandy beaches and bays on Coll which are all worth a visit and even in  August were almost deserted..
