LATEST IMAGES - THE FARNES 1
This was the first time we had visited the Farnes Islands off the Northumberland coast so late in the season. Almost all the Arctic Terns had well grown young and many of them were already flying although still begging for food. Many of the young were in the long vegetation away from predators, when the adults returned with food they spent a short period of time hovering above the vegetation locating their offspring. This behaviour certainly helped us taking Terns in flight shots.
