Short Eared Owls were a pleasantly common sight during our recent trip to the Outer Hebrides and were seen throughout the day.

Corn Buntings have shown a marked decline in the Outer Hebrides during the last few years, changes in agricultural practices are once again being blamed. However they were still relatively common and approachable.
REDSHANK
During our second week many Redshank were seen with chicks. This allowed us to get near to this normally very wary bird.
