LATEST IMAGES - APRIL
My first trip to the Swannery at Abbotsbury on the south coast near Weymouth produced some reasonable Swan images. They were nesting but no cygnets had yet hatched. Many of the nests were not very photogenic being on paths or near fences but the Swans allowed a close approach with only the occasional half hearted peck as you walked past the nests. However there were some with reeds as backdrops. All the nests had numbered stakes and water containers near them so it was a bit tricky to get natural looking images. A trip back to Abbotsbury when the cygnets have hatched and the weather is a little kinder is definitely in the diary.
