LATEST IMAGES - JANUARY

A combination of work and poor weather has curtailed my photography this month. I was hoping to use this month to photograph garden birds as we have a steady stream of Woodpeckers, Nuthatches and Goldfinches, to name a few, visiting but it wasn't to be. The images shown here were taken at Slimbridge during a visit with a friend who took great delights in showing me all the benefits of his Canon digital 10D. We seemed to spend more time in the tea room than outside but with the weather not playing and the seeming lack of wild birds it probably wasn't a bad move. To me, the newly announced (29/01/04) 1D mark 11 looks the ideal wildlife camera with lots of pixels and frames per second, except for the £3.4K price tag (see www.dpreview.com or www.eos-magazine.com).
