LATEST IMAGES - BULGARIA1

A meeting with Bulgarian wildlife photographer Emil Enchez at last years Rutland Bird Fair on the Spatia Wildlife Stand led to our latest photographic trip. We were well looked after and traveled in luxury in Emil's LPG powered camper van. Our prime aim was to try and capture some of the colourful birds of this fast changing country. Top of the list was the European Bee Eater. Unfortunately they had arrived back into Bulgaria 20 days later than normal so the birds at most of the colonies had not yet started feeding young. However on the last couple of days of our stay Emil found us a colony that had just started feeding and was good for photography. Which can be more than said for the weather as every day seemed to be in the middle 30's centigrade and was not conducive for long stays in a small hide (or sauna as we called it!).
