Moose were only found in Grand Teton National Park as they like the willow thickets found there. At this time of the year the males have shed their antlers so didn't look at their best.

Within Yellowstone National Park in the winter there are two options to get about.  The first is by snowmobile which is very cold and too awkward for carrying the photography gear although we did see one photography group using them. The second is by ancient snowcoach. These are much better when carting gear around but they are hardly luxuries and very, very expensive for what they are. Still they do go where you want them too and you can stop where you want but how they can justify the cost is beyond me especially as one ran over my tripod!.
