I recently gave an evening talk in Wales and spent the afternoon at the Forestry Commission's Red Kite feeding site at Nant yr Arian near Aberystwyth. This is very photogenic with the Kites being fed across a small lake and allows most shots to be taken against trees. Unfortunately the Kites are usually at a distance and needed the 500mm + 1.4 extender to obtain decent image sizes. It is well worth a visit however and makes a change from the more regularly visited Gigrin Farm.
