After our successful day on Skomer I found there was a late cancellation to stay for a couple of nights. So on a lovely day I set of to Skomer to stay in the new accommodation. It was very plush compared to the old chalets but was almost too comfortable and left me feeling a bit remote from the Island. The second day of my stay coincided with very strong winds which meant there were no day visitors and I almost had the Island to myself. Luckily the wind dropped sufficiently for me to get off the Island on the third day but again there were no day visitors. So if you do go and stay, whatever the time of year, take some extra food just in case.
