During our time around South Georgia, one the most exciting experiences was taking a zodiac cruises close to where Macaroni Penguins were entering and leaving the sea to get back to their colonies high up on the cliffs. The zodiac drivers got us close to the action while keeping us away from the rocks. Photographically it was very challenging with the zodiac moving about quite a bit and the penguins always on the move. We were very grateful for our IS lenses and the fact we weren't using film, it would have cost us a fortune.
