The Bird migration across the Straits of Gibraltar was our main photographic aim during our recent trip. However the most well known wildlife are the Barbary Macaques or apes. They have a bad reputation for harassing and biting the tourists  but in our experience, if the apes were left alone, they were fine. It was only when the tourists and the taxi drivers started feeding them did they get aggressive. There were signs saying there was a £500 fine for feeding the apes but the taxi drivers, who obviously wanted a tip from the tourists, completely ignored the signs.
