Many of the Gorillas we photographed on our recent trip to Rwanda were feeding. Their main food source at this time of year is Bamboo as the rains cause fresh shoots to grow. The Gorillas were very adept at peeling off the coarse outer leaves with their lovely hands to reveal the succulent inner stem. In addition to Bamboo they also eat leaves which our guides referred to as salad to aid their digestion.
