Having experienced such a bad trip to Canada last year we decided to give it another go this September, with the main aim of bears, both Black and Grizzlies. There was also the possibility of seeing the rare white form of the Black Bear, the so called Spirit or Ghost bear. This time we were delighted with the trip and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as well as coming back with some images we are quite pleased with. The first week was spent on the yacht Island Odyssey with 10 other photographers and the second week at the Spirit Bear Lodge both in the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia, north of Vancouver. As the name implies we experienced lots of very heavy rain which was a challenge photographically but with enough good weather to at least nearly dry ourselves and our gear between the rain.
