It was nice to travel again after a relatively long break, especially after recovering from a mild bout of pneumonia. The Danube Delta has long been on my wish list especially having been on the Bulgarian side of the Danube on a number of occasions. Early May saw four intrepid and experienced photographers on a Saker Tours trip to the Delta and briefly to other parts of Romania. We started at the Delta and were treated to almost perfect weather and some fantastic birds. The best were undoubtedly the Black Necked Grebes in full breeding plumage.
