LATEST IMAGES - JUNE1 The weather has not been kind to butterflies this June but we have managed some images this month. A trip to the best site for Small Pearl Bordered Fritillaries in the Forest of Dean produced reasonable numbers and even though the butterflies were very flighty we did manage one or two ok images. We still haven't got a good under wing shot showing all the pearls but maybe next year. Large Blue butterflies have been reintroduced to Gloucestershire and a trip to Daneway Banks Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust reserve in the Cotswolds gave us our first ever view and images of this lovely butterfly. We also couldn't resist the single Bee Orchid flowering right next to the path. SMALL PEARL BORDERED FRITILLARY LARGE SKIPPER LARGE BLUE BUTTERFLY LARGE BLUE BUTTERFLY1 BEE ORCHID |
