LATEST IMAGES - SOUTHERN SPAIN1

Almost immediately after returning from Svalbard I (Phil) went to Southern Spain for a week in bird hides supplied by Photo Logistics (Helen went back to work!). The weather was certainly different as were the subjects. The hides for the Sandgrouse and Vultures were great but the ones for smaller birds less so. Still I think Mike Lane and  I managed at least one keeper from each of the smaller bird hides. We had a morning each in different hides near Belchite in Aragon  for the Sandgrouse. The hides were adequate in size and well positioned for the early morning light. Shooting is through glass which is, I think, leas than ideal but the glass was clean and almost scratch free so was fine. The birds, mainly Pin Tailed Sandgrouse at the first and both PinTailed and Black Bellied at the second hide, usually landed a little away from the water and then walked in for a drink. Unfortunately the wind direction meant most of the take offs were away from us but I did manage to capture one reasonable image.
