Cruising in a zodiac in near perfect conditions in front of the Lilliehookbreen glacier was a fitting climax to our Svalbard trip. Not only was the scenery spectacular but there were also thousands of Kittiwakes feeding on food disturbed when the glacier calved in to the fjord. We had to keep a safe distance away form the glacier face which was sensible but the photographer in us cried to get closer to the birds!
