As well as the tolerant birds we came across a number of reindeer, some in the town of Longyearbyen itself. When we stopped to photograph the Arctic Skua I got out of the car and it immediately flew towards me. I beat a hasty retreat into the car thinking it was going to attack me as I was near to its nest. we later found out that a local guy feeds it small fish so it was only coming to get its dinner!
