LATEST IMAGES - COTSWOLDS1 We have visited Rough Bank butterfly reserve in the Cotswolds on a few occasions but have never timed it right to see the Adonis Blue butterfly at their peak. This year on the August Bank Holiday Saturday we seemed to have timed it perfectly with large number of butterflies, light winds and sunshine. We were also very fortunate to find a number of mating pairs and a female perched as the females are usually found well down in the grass. As the name of the reserve implies it is rough and on a steep slope making it hard to walk about and being very hard on the ankles. It is also difficult to get a clean background to the butterflies as the bank is always very close behind them because of the slope.
