Our nearest Badger sett has not been used for the last few years so it was nice to come across another one within a couple of miles of home. This sett is dug into an old freeminers coal spoil heap and is fairly open allowing us to use natural light when they first emerge. They have three cubs and we have seen a total of eight badgers at one go although most evenings there are normally three or four about at one time. Peanuts have been put down to encourage them to stay for a short while at the sett before they go off foraging.
