We had never visited the Mull of Oa so it was pleasing we did so on one of our good weather days on Islay. Lots of good birds, Golden Eagle and Twite for example and also lots of friendly and helpful birders, especially the RSPB staff who put us on to Twite and answered many of our questions while trying to carry on with their tasks. We were in some doubt whether to believe that the goats on the Mull had come from the Spanish Armada but we certainly couldn't provide any evidence that they weren't and it is such a good story.
