As well as the Kangaroos, Mareeba golf course was very good for photographing Sulphur Crested Cockatoos as they were used to people. Next to the course was the local rubbish tip which attracted lots of Black Kites, a common bird all over this region and perhaps more surprisingly Australian Pelicans.
