Emerald Creek was completely different to Granite Gorge with hardly anybody there, a lovely waterfall and it was free! On the edge of the rough parking area we came across what the locals called a Goanna which is a collective name for similar lizards. We think this one is a Lace Monitor, it was about three feet long and spent some time on a tree before disappearing into the undergrowth. Long thin things are difficult to photograph, get all the animal in the shot and it looks lost, get some of it in and you want to see all of it! It was the only one we came across during our trip.
