Our favourite day during our recent trip to the Isle of Skye was a day on the Old Man of Storr and its surroundings. We had only been to the Storr once before and that was in the middle of the day so this time we made the steep hour walk up to the classic viewpoint in the dark for dawn. Unfortunately and not surprisingly we didn't get a brilliant dawn as a bank of cloud covered the sun at sunrise but the cloud cleared soon after giving us perhaps five minutes of nice light before it got too bright! We then spent the rest of the day walking further up the Storr and along the ridge for some fantastic views of the Trotternish Ridge.
