Wheatears were one of the commonest small birds on Skokholm when we visited. They are a subject of a long term ringing study looking at survival rates. This meant very few Wheatear didn't have any rings on and we admit to fighting a loosing battle to photograph the chicks and any birds on migration before they were caught and rung!
