Red Squirrels are always very photogenic especially for English photographers so we spent a morning at the feeding site at Barrhill Wood near Kirkcudbright. There is an infinity pool as well as feeders close by. The squirrels are used to the set up and readily come down for the hazel nuts placed in strategic positions. The logs around the pool are a bit worn and we were going to go back and do a bit of gardening armed with more nuts but unfortunately the weather and, of course, the Otters were against us. It is definitely worth a visit and will be on our list when we return to Dumfries and Galloway.
