Skokholm Island is an active Bird Observatory and during our stay the ringers captured 23 species. Photographing birds in the hand is not really our thing but we did make an exception for the magnificent Male Red Backed Shrike. Unfortunately when it was released it didn't come close enough to the paths to be photographed in a more natural setting.  Needless to say it made the ringers week. We also enjoyed photographing the resident Pipits and Oystercatchers especially when they were perched on the lovely Skokholm Old Red Sandstone rocks.
