We were lucky during our stay in the Arfak Mountains that we had the choice of hides as it took us three attempts to observe the Superb Bird of Paradise displaying. The bird only came to the fruit put out on our first visit and we saw the bird on its display log from another hide but it didn't perform a full display and it was always facing away from us. Thankfully on the next visit the bird turned towards us and we could at last capture some images and video of its amazing display. There were lots of smiles and the walk back to the village didn't seem as long!
