Shining Sunbeams, whilst beautiful in their own right, were a bit of a pain at the feeders as they continuously tried to drive off many of the other species. It was a challenge to get a shot showing the beautiful colours on the backs of some individuals. Thankfully we were also treated to a number of visits of the fabulous Sword-billed Hummingbird, it is the only bird to have a beak longer than the rest of its body. It's bill is too long to be used for preening so instead it has to use it's feet!.
