The highlight of the trip was seeing and photographing Gyr Falcons. A pair were nesting on Lava rock formations near to a public footpath and had become used to people close to the nest. The Falcons mainly feed on Ptarmigan and we even saw from a viewpoint next to a cafe, food being brought into the nest and the female feeding the chicks.
