A couple of years ago we went on a Steve Race Gannet feeding trip while visiting Bempton and we  were keen to have another try. The trip is quite weather dependent and we were lucky this time as it started raining just as we got back to the harbour. Last time the trip had not run for a while because of bad weather and it took the birds quite a time to come down for the fish thrown out for them. This meant it was relatively easy to pick out individual birds and follow them down on their dives. This time it couldn't have been more different, the birds came in large numbers almost immediately the boat arrived. It was nearly impossible to follow an individual bird as there were so many and they were hovering just over the water so they dived from a very low level. below are some of the more successful images but there were a large number, and I mean a large number, of utter rubbish!
