After visiting Yanacocha reserve on our day in the Andean cloud forest, Luis Alcivar took us to Tandayapa reserve which is world famous for its Hummingbirds. We didn't have a multi flash set up so tried to photograph them with natural light and occasionally with a bit of fill in flash. We were again inundated with lifers and what with trying to photograph them and remember the names, it was a full on experience only broken by an excellent lunch. Once we had recharged, ourselves, camera batteries and flash it was back to work. Over the day, we saw at least 34 lifers so our flight change worked out very well for us. The Buff-tailed Coronet was one of the most common Hummingbirds we saw and probably the easiest as it did actually perch for a few seconds!
