As always during the summer in northern latitudes, bird photography completely disrupts your normal sleep patterns. During my long weekend in Finland at the Ruff lekking site the normal routine was up at 3 am and straight into the hides until 8 then back to the room for a look at the images and downloading etc then lunch at 11. After lunch there was time for an hour or two's sleep along with a walk out to the large viewing platform over Liminka bay. Dinner was at 4 and then out to the pond hides at 5 until about 10pm. Back for a short sleep until up again at 3am. It didn't help that on the first travel day I didn't actually go to bed. It is fine for a few days but I was glad the trip wasn't for a week!
