Probably the most surreal  wildlife photography we have ever done was on Mareeba golf course. In our motel information package there was a sheet about photographing Kangaroos on Mareeba golf course so of course we had to give it a try. It transpired that the Kangaroos came every day to shelter from the sun under the trees on the golf course and, instead of the course trying to stop them, they let people come onto the course to view and photograph them. So after paying our 30 Australian Dollars we set off on a golf cart to photograph the Kangaroos which were completely used to people and the carts, and the golfers didn't seem to mind us whizzing about. To top it all our camera bags fitted nicely into the golf bag spaces on the back!
