The St Kilda Wren is a subspecies of the UK mainland Wren and is a little heavier with longer wings and with a longer thicker bill and longer legs. It is paler and has more stripes and has slightly different song and lays larger, heavier eggs. They were quite conspicuous during our recent visit as they were feeding young mainly on the stones of the old walls.
