From Tandayapa on the west Andean foothills we then travelled back for an overnight stay near Quito in the very pleasant Puembo Birding Gardens at nearly 8,000 feet. Unfortunately we only had one afternoon here but still managed some pleasant images. On the way to the next Lodge we had half a day on the paramo grasslands over looked by Antisana Volcano. Here we saw Andean Condor, the rare Black faced Ibis amongst others and photographed the Black Flowerpiercer while having a cup of tea at a small cafe.
