On the last morning we clambered down the cliffs to a small ledge where three of us were set up in bag hides overlooking a nesting site. It was quite a way away so a big lens, converter and crop camera were required. Eleonora's falcon's do not make a nest as such and we were treated to a number of visits by the female to feed the chicks on the nest 'table'. It was difficult to see what prey she was bringing in but we certainly saw her come in with a robin. The chicks are obviously not too far away from fledging and would have departed by the end of September. The birds will leave Sardinia in November and spend the winter in Madagascar.
