Chesil Beach is a unique sand bar on the Dorset coast near Weymouth and it is home to a well protected and wardened Little Tern Colony. They can be photographed on their way out and back from the sea and we had two visits to see what we could come up with. The first nests were identified by the wardens when we were there and they were marking each nest and putting the eggs onto artificial sandy beds to improve their incubation. It was fascinating to see how much time, effort and money is going into protecting this colony.
