On one of our early morning walks along the dunes at RSPB Minsmere we were surprised and delighted to come across a Red-throated Diver yards from the shore actively feeding. It was very tolerant of us and allowed some close photography. Even though it was in its winter plumage with the light in the right direction you could still make out its lovely red eye.
