We spent a couple of mornings at Heysham harbour where we had heard there was a roost of Knot. Like many good birding spots it wasn't the most scenic spot being next to a lorry park for the ferry but the birds didn't seem to mind. We photographed from the car as the birds were very close but, as seems to be always the case, as the numbers of birds increased along came the inevitable dog walker and the birds moved down the sea wall out of range. It seemed to us the last place to take a dog for a walk but dog walkers seem to get everywhere.
