At Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve we got chatting to a local birdwatcher who very kindly gave us a few places he thought we might find interesting, the best of which was the road to Sunderland Point south of Heysham. He forgot to tell us the road was tidal but luckily the tides were in our favour. Initially the road was well under water so we had to wait and guess a bit when it was safe to drive along the road which bisected a salt marsh down to Sunderland Point. We tried to drive down as soon as possible after the water dropped, before other cars had pushed the birds away. With one of us carefully driving and the other in the back with the camera we got quite close to a Curlew or two  as well as Redshank and a Little Egret. Thankfully the light was good and we didn't get the car stuck on the causeway.
