Occasionally the Otters in Dumfries would come out to the bank to eat the larger prey, either onto the concrete lips under the walled river sides or the more photogenic site of the shingle island in the middle of the river under the large weir. When this happened there were many mobile phones pointing at them as well as the more serious photographers. It was great to see people stop doing their shopping to watch the Otters and the children seemed to especially enjoy seeing them.
