The Snaefellsnes peninsula was ideal for our 4 day stay as it is small enough for us to drive around the coast road to get back to our base while still having time to explore the well known sites and some more off the beaten track areas. Once we got away from the well known Kirkjufell mountain and waterfall we almost had the place to ourselves.
