Many of the animals of Australia are very bizarre to a visitor from the UK and it was a privilege to see any of them. We were particularly lucky with the Duck-Billed Platypus. First we saw a few at Tarzali Lakes, an old fishing pond site, that now makes more money by showing guests the resident Duck-Billed Platypus's. We also visited a Platypus viewing site at Peterson's Creek near Yungaburra. It seems that for many of these viewing areas 'you should have been here yesterday' but not on this occasion. There was one in full view as we arrived and another one further down the creek. The Australasian Grebe is from Tarzali Lakes while the Tree Kangaroo was from Nerada Tea Centre where again it was on view as soon as we arrived..
