There were at least two pairs of Arctic Skuas nesting on St Kilda during our recent visit. These birds are renowned for being aggressive towards intruders who stray into their nesting area. You had to keep to the path on the way from the village to the Gap if you wanted to avoid being bombed by one of the pairs of Arctic Skuas. They had certainly drawn blood from a few of the day visitors!
