As well as the clay lick in the forest we visited during our stay at Sani Lodge, there was also one you could see from the Napo river. The lick was high on the exposed bank so too far away for individual portraits but it was fascinating to see so many parrots down together. The Cobalt-winged Parakeets came down en masse to the clay lick in the forest and were constantly in motion making it very difficult for individual portraits but it was great fun trying to capture their beauty and movement with slow shutter speeds. You may also spot an Orange-cheeked Parrot amongst them. As usual with this type of photography, the effects are interesting and not to everybody's liking but we like the ones we have posted here!
