Sani Lodge on the Napo River in eastern Ecuador was very near to a canopy tower 40 meters into the tree canopy. Photography was very difficult here with birds still perching above the tower platform and always behind a branch! We did see many new species and photographed some but often not well. Close to the bottom of the tower there was a hide for Wire-tailed Manakins. We also saw several species of Monkey along the river. The most obvious were the Howler Monkeys who seemed to be constantly making a noise!
