Marwick Head, on the West Mainland Orkney was a lovely walk if a bit windy and gave close views of Guillemots (of which around 10% were the bridled form) and Razorbills. The colonies of auks we found unusual because as well as nesting on the ledges as they normally do, they also seemed to be nesting on the scree slopes under the cliffs. Usually these would be fair game for foxes but as far as we know, they aren't on Orkney so the auks have spread lower down the cliffs.
