During the trip to Sardinia to photograph Eleonora's Falcon we went in different hides for each of the three morning and afternoon sessions. Some were much better than others both on the comfort level, how I wish I had taken a small cushion, and on the amount of bird activity. The first hide we visited was by far the best with almost constant visits onto the cliffs by a number of birds which contrasted markedly by two hides with no activity, still you have to take the rough with the smooth. During our first session a male Falcon (males have a blue eye ring, females have a yellow one) sat on the cliffs and proceeded to give itself a full service which also gave the cameras a full workout.
